The Candidate’s Journey

This candidate first encountered KX Recruit at a jobs fair in Emirates where he met Chloe, who left a lasting impression. Impressed by Chloe’s warmth and assistance, the candidate kept communicating with KX Recruit and quickly secured an interview with Havas, whereby he was employed, marking the beginning of his journey with us.

In his pursuit of a new career path following his role at Havas, the candidate reconnected with KX Recruit, anticipating another successful outcome. Chloe, who now leads KX Recruit as Social Hub Lead, introduced him to Lara, Recruitment Account Manager, who specialises in hospitality and customer service roles. Lara met with the candidate to talk through current job vacancies. During the meeting, Lara explained a fresh opportunity at Lightroom (Host) that was particularly suited to the candidate’s skillset. Lightroom is a projection-based performance venue located on Lewis Cubitt Square, King’s Cross. The candidate applied for a few roles through KX Recruit, secured interviews with two of the companies and was shortly notified with two job offers. He decided to accept the offer he received from Lightroom for the Host position.

Although he intended to attend some KX Recruit events such as our Hospitality Speed Interview Event and a Lightroom Information Session, his rapid job offer for the role at Lightroom pre-empted the need to attend.

 

Working at Lightroom

For the candidate, the appeal of the Host position lay in its flexibility and engaging environment. His day-to-day responsibilities involve guiding customers through their journey at the venue, a role he finds rewarding due to its dynamic nature and the variety of interesting people he interacts with every day. 

The current show at Lightroom is called ‘The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks’. The candidate explained that he is honoured to get the opportunity to see these shows as part of his job.

Central to his job satisfaction are the Lightroom team and managers, whom he describes as diverse, respectful, and friendly. He credits them with enhancing his job each day by creating such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. He remains open to exploring different roles within the company, thanks to his positive experience thus far.

With regards to working on the King’s Cross estate, the candidate expresses his love for the area’s vibrant energy and aesthetic appeal, stating it as an ideal work environment.
